Botanical Printing at GroWild, Inc.

Did you know that plants will share their colors and create beautiful prints on fabric or paper!  Botanical printer Jan Quarles will teach you the basics of this amazing process and GroWild co-owner Terri Barnes will share her knowledge of native plants for printing.  Many herbs print, too, so you might bring leaves to try! You’ll learn how to choose good printers, place plants for a design and then roll, dye and steam fabric in a layered technique for beautiful prints. Your class fee of $185 includes a kit with three pre-mordanted silk and silk/wool scarves, gloves, dowels for rolling, sampling fabric and paper. I also provide dyes and use of all necessary equipment. Wear old clothes and bring your lunch. Enrollment is 10 maximum.
