Did you know many leaves and flowers will share colors and create beautiful prints on fabric or paper? Botanical printer Jan Quarles will teach you the basics of this amazing process and GroWild co-owner Terri Barnes will share her knowledge of native plants for printing in this popular workshop.
You’ll learn how to choose good printers, place plant parts (leaves and flowers) for a design and then roll, dye and steam fabric in a layered technique for beautiful prints. Your class fee of $175 includes a kit with extensive notes, two pre-mordanted silk and silk/wool scarves, gloves, dowels for rolling, and pre-dyed dye blankets for color. All necessary equipment is provided. Just bring your lunch to eat in the wonderful GroWild pavilion where we work and remember to wear old clothes. Class meets 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Please contact Jan Quarles with questions or to request a PayPal invoice to register for the class. Her email address is jan37129@yahoo.com. Enrollment is 10 students maximum.
Class will be held at GroWild, Inc., 7190 Hill Hughes Rd., Fairview, TN 37062, 615-799-1910
